WhatsApp is currently unavailable to thousands of users for both group and personal chats.

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app, owned by Meta and used by many for quick texting, is reportedly experiencing a problem. Users of WhatsApp in the USA are currently unable to send or receive messages.

The outage is affecting both personal and group chats, according to.com. It looks like you can’t send messages to WhatsApp groups right now, and even personal chats seem to be severely affected.

DownDetector, an outage detection website, confirms that WhatsApp is down for thousands of users. The website’s heat map shows that major cities like the USA, Australia, and the UK are affected, but we fear that all users are being affected.

It looks like the outage is also affecting WhatsApp Web, and we can confirm that the app’s web client can no longer connect. Anyone attempting to use WhatsApp Web will be met with an error message similar to the one shown below.
